Okotoks Irish Dance Association

Welcome! The Okotoks Irish Dance Association (OIDA) exists to support the dancers of Scoil Rince Bhriomhar (SRB) and their teachers in promoting a passion for Irish dance and Irish Culture in Okotoks and area. As a registered non-profit society OIDA;

  • Provides for the recreation of the members and promotes opportunities for friendly and social activities.
  • Encourages and promotes amateur games and exercises.
  • Provides a meeting place for the consideration and discussion of questions affecting the interests of the community.

OIDA supports Scoil Rince Bhriomhar through our involvement with competitive dance, recreational dance, Irish culture, and socializing. Our vision and mission is closely aligned with that of SRB which promotes a natural sharing of resources and initiatives. OIDA's current initiatives include:

  • The development/updating of the parent handbook
  • The organisation of our annual Ceili
  • Organisation of the used shoe program
  • Organisation of the school dress program

To achieve our goals and mission, we value respect, transparency, fairness, integrity, innovation, and mutual benefit in relation to SRB. All families with dancers at SRB are required to join OIDA for a nominal annual fee. For further details about OIDA, please refer to the SRB Handbook, and our meeting minutes.
